So i've been writing jokes for the late night show that Colt is hosting on campus, and so far only a few of them have made it on the show for various reasons; either they are too stupid, too much not his style, or too newsy to be good in a late night monologue.
Therefore, I have decided that instead of all the unused jokes disappearing into the void of untimeliness, i may (don't hold me to it, i already know that i have a problem thinking up ideas and not seeing them through as far as they need to) just post them to this site.
Hey... it's better than the nothing that i HAVE been posting.
So here are a bunch that I've written that may or may not be used in future After Curfew shows, but I only have like six people that subscribe to my shizneet, so i don't think it'll let any cat out of its bag.

On October 17, 2008, the small law offices of McCamy, Phillips, Tuggle & Fordham in Dalton, Georgia, was attacked by an explosive device that blew out the windows in the building and injured four people. When asked who did it, the lawyers immediately pointed fingers at Granger, Small, Kline and Anastipoulo, a rival small law office who had saran-wrapped their company car two weeks prior.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081017/ap_on_re_us/law_office_explosion
Mere weeks after refusing John McCain’s request to delay political campaigns to help the ailing economy in Washington, Obama recently cancelled two solid days of campaign events in order to visit his ailing grandmother in Hawaii. When asked for a comment, John McCain said that he was rather confused about Obama’s priorities since he is a good ten years older than Obama’s grandmother and twice as frail. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122455278869552829.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
An image of Pope Benedict XVI with a swastika over his face appeared Monday on a Web site run by supporters of Kadima, the leading Israeli political party. The protest was in response to accusations that the Vatican was downplaying the fact that the Pope during WWII, Pope Pius XII, did not speak out strongly against the Nazi genocide. In order to help change protesters minds, later that day Pope Benedict showed the protesters this curtly-worded letter that Pope Pius XII had sent directly to Hitler: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/21/world/middleeast/21briefs-ANTIPOPEIMAG_BRF.html?ref=world
The typically vocal hate groups have been suspiciously quiet during this election season. The current leader of a prominent neo-Nazi group, Bill White, said that “we’re facing the potential of a half-black candidate financed by Jewish money going up against a white candidate financed by Jewish money, who are both advocating the same policy. So you’ve got two terrible choices.”Mr. White will join fellow hate group leaders Sid Caucasian and Carl “The Arian” Peachtint in a large bonfire where they will sit and be racist together. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/21/us/politics/21whites.html?ref=politics
This year marks the first year in a decade that the US suicide rate is increasing.Statistics report that the suicides are concentrated around middle-aged white women. In other news, 2008 marks the second year since Will and Grace went off the air, with television conglomerates still struggling to come up with a suitable replacement. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2008-10/jhub-usr101708.php
So it seems that another semester is over. I suppose i should be glad about it, but really it doesn't feel like it makes that much of a difference anymore. Lit theory was a good class, but i'm not really sure it changed my perspective all that much. Advanced grammar was good, i'm pretty sure i got an A, but again... i did enjoy Dr. Sepko and her teaching. i'm kinda nervous about my grades, but that's not because i messed anything up per se, it's just the feeling i've come to habitally get whenever grades are sent out...
Recently, though, i've really been feeling like i'm running late for something. Like i've gotta hurry up and get somewhere but i don't know where to go. I can only assume it's because i realize i'm 22 and that if i'm going to do something big it has to be now... which doesn't really make much sense, i admit, but that's how i feel, so i suppose you can deal with it, i have to. but to contrast that feeling i have another one. one that says that a life can be successful without doing anything big or "world-changing" in the materialistic sense... but i still feel like i'm at the prime of life or something, like i just need to just get out there and beat my head against a wall. kinda like there's a goliath somewhere in some invisible and inaudible world that's dominating a stagnant war that no one knows they're fighting and i need to find a team of davids to do the Lord's will in the matter... hehe, maybe with rock [music] instead of smooth stones this time... yeah, i know. but still...
Aren't we all where we are for such a time as this?
With our God, do accidents actually exist?
How much longer must we wait?
Sometimes i feel that schooling is a waste of time. Other times i know that it is. But the environment that is created by NGU, even Greenville in general, provides a place of preparation that i believe is unrivaled. But what the preparation is for... i can only feel a sense of urgency. Why, i don't know. I hope that the feeling is not a premonition of something unimaginable that is going to happen soon.
as i continue to do this horrific paper and read articles about different lit theories, i repeatedly run across words that i want to use in an actual conversation:
